Meningiomas are benign slow growing tumours that can arise from the covering of the brain (dura) at the base of the skull. Traditionally, a large skull opening and retraction of the frontal lobe of the brain are done to expose these tumours. Now, small tumours underneath the frontal lobe or within the sella can be removed endoscopically without touching the normal brain.
